401 Costume Stitcher

  • Description:
    Responsible for constructing approximately 180 costumes, working under direction of the designer/supervisor. Will assist in fitting and finishing costumes during rehearsal weeks. During the summer, responsible for maintaining and repairing costumes. *Two dressers are needed for Centennial Theater and five dressers are needed for the Good Time Theatre.
  • Qualifications:
    Skill and speed are very important and knowledge of standard sewing techniques is required. Must be neat, organized, pleasant, and cooperative with a professional outlook. Experience in a costume shop preferred. No prior dresser experience necessary, but helpful.

402 Costumed Character (Must be 4'8'' - 5'2'' tall - BFOQ)

  • Description:
    Fully-costumed characters, who perform, greet guests and interact with children throughout the park.
  • Qualifications:
    Must be 4?8? - 5?2? (BFOQ) Previous experience in children?s theatre, recreation, education, costumed character performance or related work is helpful. Must be physically able to handle the demands of working in full body costume: i.e. work in very hot conditions; move ?freely? with limited peripheral vision in an oversized costume; handle over-zealous actions from unruly guests (though we attempt to protect the characters to the best of our abilities); etc.

403 Theatre Usher/Escort

  • Description:
    Helps to protect and escort the costumed characters during appearances throughout the park. Relates to the children to help create and maintain the fantasy world created by the costumed characters.Responsible for smooth house operations in the theatres. Ensure guests are welcomed in a courteous manner. Encourage guests to follow theatre rules in an effort to ensure safety and comfort. Maintain house in a neat, orderly condition in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Qualifications:
    Must enjoy children. Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and work well without constant supervision. Must be able to relate to children as both teacher (authority figure) and friend.Must be willing and able to perform a variety of tasks. Must maintain a pleasant appearance and personality, and a willingness to maintain a high standard of performance without constant supervision. Must be able to repeatedly climb up and down long flights of stairs; speak effectively over a microphone before large crowds; deal pleasantly and calmly with guests in stressful situations.

908 Office Clerk/Data Entry

  • Description:
    Responsibilities include handling guest complaints, cashing checks, measuring children and issuing ride admission policy forms. General office duties, such as typing and filing are also part of this position. Also responsible for maintaining proper communications such as answering telephones, paging, and monitoring weather and ride downtimes. Maintains proper office policies and procedures in a business-like manner, answers telephones and takes concise messages. Responsible for key entry on IBM computer, and record keeping. May works directly with the public. Must be willing to be flexible with work schedule.
  • Qualifications:
    Patient, poised, able to cope with special situations and work well under pressure. Courtesy, alertness, a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly are necessary. Must be well-groomed. Office experience is helpful. Should be able to courteously and tactfully handle guests in both positive and negative situations. It is required that all must be able to read, comprehend and speak the English language.
