The Jack Aldrich Theatre

October 29, 2009 9:32 AM

If you've passed the formerly-named Centennial Theatre and did a double-take, you're not alone.

The theatre has been renamed the "Jack Aldrich Theatre."

Jack was considered the "father of live entertainment" here. He was the man responsible for bringing live stage shows and live music to our guests back in the early '70's.

Sadly, he passed away in August, but his legacy lives on.

During a recent dedication ceremony, family and friends of Jack gathered here to recall his talents, his passion and his unique sense of humor.

Dick Kinzel, CEO of Cedar Fair, worked closely with Jack in the '70's and made the decision to rename the theatre. Here, he unveils a new plaque alongside Jack's family:

You can read more about Jack's contributions to Cedar Point on the plaque at the Jack Aldrich Theatre.
